Website Content Creator (Volunteer)

What is the Volunteer Role?


We are looking for somebody to join our small, friendly team to take on the part-time, flexible and home-based volunteer role of Website Content Creator.  You'll be helping to develop the website's unique style and bring us more into the educational campaign space through digital content. 


The volunteer role will require at least 5 hours a week. Work is remote, and while we welcome everyone, they must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.


What Will The Volunteer Role Involve?

  • Attend weekly meetings with the manger to formulate plans and check progress.

  • Have a good understanding of our vision, mission and values to be able to create content in keeping with Verify Humanity.

  • Research academic and grey literature (eg: government reports) on relevant topics.  We cover neglected or misunderstood issues that threaten the conservation of UK wildlife and their well-being. eg: snares 

  • Ensure all researched information has copyright licences allowing us to use it.  Training given.  

  • Create relevant educational campaign content.  We cover topics such as conservation culling, hunting, road kill, human-animal conflict, wildlife farming, wildlife crime and vegan conservation.

  • You might be asked to create content for Government Consultations, petitions, surveys or long pieces on vegan conservation and conservation culling etc.

  • Other projects might include creating educational Wildlife ID sections on our website.  This might cover:

  • bird song

  • animal footprints

  • wildlife

  • trees

  • fungi


Who Should Apply?


Preferred Experience

  • Several years of experience creating fun, educational online content.

  • Animal advocacy in the UK wildlife sector

  • Less experienced applicants would need a resourceful nature and a willingness to push themselves to explore and learn new skills.

  • Google Workspace (training given)

  • General research skills

  • Excellent content creation and writing skills.

  • WIX 

  • Good communicator in English - verbal and written.

Other Requirements

  • Computer and good internet connection.
