Summary of the volunteer role

Do you have a passion for animals, love writing and aspire to make the world a better place?  We are looking for somebody to join our small, friendly team to take on the part-time, flexible and home-based role of voluntary content creator/writer.

This will be for our new Spotlight section on our website and articles could cover anything from compassionate conservation, wildlife, factory farming, speciesism, human-animal conflict, co-existence and re-wilding.

What will the volunteer role involve?

  • Must be an excellent researcher to ensure content is factual and up to date.

  • Have a skill for blending engaging but easily digestible content with hard facts.

  • Write content that is uplifting, thought provoking to make people question their perceptions and behaviours

  • Help empower your audience to take responsibility and engage positively with the animal world around them.

  • Content needs to consider the bigger picture.  That can include over time, space or how different values interact.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent content creation and writing skills.

  • Good communicator - verbal and written.

  • An understanding and sensitivity to what makes people tick.

  • Thinking outside the box to address old topics in new and creative ways.

Useful Experience

  • Experience writing content whether for social media platforms or mainstream publications.

  • Less experienced applicants would need a resourceful nature and a willingness to push themselves to explore and learn new skills.

Other Requirements

  • A passion for animal advocacy and compassionate conservation.

  • Computer and good internet connection.

  • Weekly online meeting to discuss ideas, progress and plan work.
